Let the Bible Speak was formed in February 1973 and commenced broadcasting in the same year. Its beginnings were small, broadcasting over one station in the Isle of Man and possessing only two tape recorders and a microphone as its entire equipment. From these small beginnings it has grown steadily. Now the programmes, with a potential audience of millions, are heard each week over stations in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Similar advances were made on the technical side. The first programmes were recorded in the prayer room of Ballymoney Free Presbyterian Church. Soon it was realized that a more permanent home, with better equipment, was necessary. So, in the summer of 1973 plans were put in motion to meet this need. The old Cabra Free Presbyterian Church (just a few miles outside Ballymoney) was placed at our disposal and in April 1974, after much renovation and installation of professional recording equipment, LTBS opened its own studio.
In more recent times, all recordings have become computer based and the need for numerous tape-recording machines no longer essential. The digital age has enabled more programmes to be produced in shorter time and has revolutionised the storage and transmission of broadcast material.
Radio is truly international. It recognises no boundaries and can take the Gospel into almost every part of the world. It's a tremendous opportunity to reach multitudes with the saving message of the cross.
